I’ve been editing for a long time now, yet I still start every new project with a mix of excitement, uncertainty, and, if I’m being honest, a small dash of panic. It’s the same feeling I get at the top of a mountain, right before the first ski run of the season. I’ve done this countless times before, I tell myself, found a path where none seems immediately clear. Enjoyed it. Thrilled at it even. Still, I hesitate for a moment at that lip wondering ‘what kind of delusional thinking has led me to think I can possibly do this?’
Then I take the leap.
I love the puzzle of editing. Finding the most impactful arrangement, amongst limitless possibilities, telling the very best story. My work encompasses a wide range of projects across theatrical, tv/streaming, and digital spaces. Teasers and trailers, documentary shorts, on-air specials, behind-the-scenes, multi-camera shows, music videos, promos, branding, marketing, social pieces, and all things in between.
Good things, creative things can happen in that place where uncertainty and perseverance meet, and I’m going to keep leaping, like a fool, into that space until the panic runs dry.
